At the Institute of Metallurgical and Foundry Engineering we are working as the successor of many former established departments (Department of Non-Ferrous (1870) and Ferrous Metallurgy (1872), Department of Foundry (1872) ). Our team consist of from highly qualified, experienced teachers and researches, PhD students, and young BSc-MSc students. We are the only know HQ in Hungary at the field of teaching and R&D of pyro and hydrometallurgical technologies, powder and ferrous metallurgical technologies, surface technologies, metal bearing waste treatment technologies, theory and practice of casting technologies and the study of archeometallurgy.

Our Institute has got really good connections with the biggest companies (mostly in the metal industry) in Hungary (ISD Dunaferr, Nemak, Audi, Fémalk, PrecCast, ArcelorMittal, etc.), furthermore we have living research & teaching agreements with numerous universities and companies all over Europe (Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Finland, etc.).
